CAD DRAFTER/PERMIT COORDINATOR

DESCRIPTION

DACO has an opening for a CAD Drafter/Permit Coordinator whose mission is to support the Sales team in securing and fulfilling orders. You will provide equipment layout drawings for customer proposals, and support and coordinate the efforts of entire permitting process. We’re excited to welcome someone to our growing team who has dedication and passion for customer service with attention to detail and strong follow-through.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Coordinate the permitting of projects which may include: identify required permits and approvals required for a site, assemble documentation required for permit submittal, review design documents for completeness, submit design documents to various cities and municipalities, coordinate city permit review, complete permit applications, provide status updates to customers, deliver submittal packages to various cities
• Use CAD to draw layouts for Sales team
• Support permitting and installation processes by conducting follow-ups with sales teams, cities and municipalities, or vendors
• Support and track critical customer projects to ensure on time delivery and pro-active communication with the sales team
• Use the CRM tools to organize and document customer interactions and follow up

REQUIREMENTS:

• CAD drafting skills
• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing work environment and deal effectively with varying workload requirements; can shift gears comfortably, manage competing demands, delays or unexpected events
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong background in Outlook and Microsoft Suite software
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Detail oriented with strong ability to multi- task and prioritize effectively

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• CAD certification or 2 years AutoCAD experience required
• Minimum of 2 years customer service experience
• Prior experience in the material handling industry preferred
• Prior experience with permit consulting/expediting preferred
• Experience in a sales and service driven environment preferred
• Experience using CRM and customer database software

YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Recognizing specific customer needs and providing solutions.

· WABO certification preferred.
· Experience using MIG welding process. TIG and/or spot-welding experience a plus.
· Must be able to certify on plain steel.
· Must be capable of machine setup including proper wire speed, voltage, and gas flow.
· Ability to safely use and operate shop tools and equipment such as torches, band saws and drill presses.
· Safely operate shop equipment, MIG welding, sawing, cutting, and grinding of roll formed and structural steel.
· Capable of following required safety procedures including OSHA standards.
· Able to work in a physically demanding environment including working on your feet for extended periods of time, repetitive work, lifting material weighing up to 75 pounds and working in hot or cold conditions.
· Able to follow written instructions and interpret shop drawings
· Able to safely use various warehouse equipment including a forklift
· Basic computer skills required
· Proficient math skills
· Assist in warehouse as required.

The mission of the Customer Service Inside Sales Manager is to maintain customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources. Develop, coach, and empower direct reports so they can answer customer questions, efficiently and accurately. Effectively communicate company vision, values, and objectives to the team. Accomplish these objectives by hiring, training and empowering team members. Be an ambassador for company culture by leading by example with continual communication of the company behaviors/fundamentals.

This position is located in our Kent, WA office.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

· Supervise a dynamic team of about 6-8 Customer Service Representatives who process transactional and project-based orders.
· Monitor orders in queue to manage and delegate workload.
· Take over escalations regarding customer issues, supplier questions, freight and returns.
· Support incoming communications from Account Managers by directing to the appropriate person.
· Identify needs for team training and process improvement, lead efforts to implement.
· Conduct new hire and ongoing professional training for the team.
· Create, manage, and track team KPIs and ensure the team is meeting minimum standards.
· Conduct performance reviews, goal setting meetings and weekly one-on-ones.
· Responsible for performance management including documentation, counseling and follow-ups.
· Conduct interviews to support hiring and advancement within the Customer Service team.
· Contribute to a positive working environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
