Steel Mezzanine Flooring Design Concepts
Cubic Designs offers three basic steel mezzanines concepts, which may be combined or altered to fit your specific application requirements.
Freestanding
Freestanding steel mezzanines allows for maximum use of floor level space and full utilization of the mezzanine level. Freestanding mezzanines are available with spans up to 40 feet and more.
Catwalk
Catwalk steel mezzanines are ideal for increasing the capacity of shelving or rack storage areas. In many cases, existing shelving uprights provide adequate support for framing members. When shelving uprights are inadequate, Cubic columns are used to support the framing members.
Full Mat
Full Mat steel mezzanines combine features of both freestanding and catwalk styles. The second level open area can be used for bulk storage, office space, employee cafeterias and a number of other applications. Full mat mezzanines can be installed over existing shelving or rack uprights.

Steel Mezzanines Stairs
All Cubic Steel Mezzanines stairs are designed and manufactured per BOCA and UBC codes, using the 7"rise/11"tread standard. Stair railing is factory welded to the stair structure to eliminate excess movement caused by a bolted connection. "Knockdown" design allows for easy packaging to prevent damage during shipping. The Cubic stair design reduces the number of people and the size of equipment required for installation. Typical stair widths can vary from 37"to 48"using the standard design. Special stair widths are also available. Closed risers are available for modesty. Modesty panels can also be applied for the stair railing.
