Dunnage Shipping Air BagsWhether you are transporting your goods via truck, intermodal, railcar, ocean container, or vessel, properly installed dunnage air bags are the most cost effective and dependable way to secure your load, minimizing its movement by creating a wall to lock the load in place. During shipment your product can experience movement from front to back, side to side or vertically causing potential damage to your valuable cargo. The damage caused by not properly securing your loads can become costly, hinder productivity and make for very unhappy customers. By filling voids, bracing loads and absorbing vibration, effectively keeping the product in place, damage is reduced and/or eliminated by the use of shipping supplies air bags.
TRUCK Dunnage air bags reduce load movement by creating a wall that helps keep the load in place. Placing one or two bags properly at the rear of the load, helps to restrict side movement by filling lateral voids and holding load firmly against the sidewalls of the truck. RAILCAR Product loads shipped by railcar can be very heavy weight and are often subjected to prolonged, excessive movement, making it necessary to properly brace the loads. Dunnage air bags can be used to secure your palletized, unitized, slip-sheeted or loose-stacked loads both lengthwise and crosswise. Lengthwise bracing helps to re-position loads toward end walls, assisting to eliminate length-wise voids, as well as acting as a cushion to help absorb shock. Crosswise bracing, placed between lengthwise rows of the load, fill the voids and help to keep the product load held tightly against the sidewalls. INTERMODAL Product loads shipped by piggyback or by ocean containers can often be subjected to prolonged, excessive movement, sometimes over very long distances, making it even more imperative that you use reliable bracing to ensure that your product arrives undamaged. Dunnage air bags help to re-position loads toward end walls, assisting to eliminate length-wise voids, as well as acting as a cushion to help absorb shock. OCEAN CONTAINER VESSEL Positioning dunnage air bags in voids and slack areas, will hold the load in place by exerting outward pressure against the load on either side, or between the load and the bulkhead.
