My family and I recently helped cook and serve dinner to a small group of homeless families, hosted at a church shelter, partnering with our synagogue. Such a humbling and, at the same time, rewarding experience; it felt really good to concretely help others and appreciate what we have as well. Our kids did a great job helping and interacting with the kids we were hosting. I post this not for credit but to encourage others to step outside your comfort zone and feel as good as our family does right now. Here are just a couple of links for organizations found on the internet where you can volunteer your time. There are many, many more that can always use your help, not just this time of the year, but all year round.
