Spring is finally here, and that usually means it time for the annual spring cleaning of our homes; out with the old and then a real good cleaning so we can start the year afresh. I know I always feel so much better after I have gone though every drawer, cupboard and closet, getting rid of everything I don't need or use anymore and then clean everything thoroughly. Someone once told me a good rule of thumb is, if you haven't used it in a year, you probably won't use it again (excluding seasonal items). Also, for every new thing you purchase, you need to get rid of one old thing to make room for it. This same philosophy should be applied to our businesses as well. I am sure most warehouses could use a good cleaning and reorganization once a year. Eliminating any unnecessary clutter that may have accumulated over the past year helps to relieve stress and the sense of being overwhelmed and can increase your productivity.
