History
1972
The Start of Something Special
Dick Anderson starts the Dick Anderson Company in an upstairs bedroom of his home, with a vision of serving the material handling needs of the Pacific Northwest fishing and agricultural markets.
1973
Expansion, Integrity, Family, Service
John Anderson joins his father in the daily operations. DACO’s reputation grows as a company with honesty and integrity, and a desire to help their customers succeed. We expand our focus through-out Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.
1979
DACO Moves into new Bellevue Building
Dick and John moved operations to our first “official” building in Bellevue, Washington allowing DACO for the first time to have both our sales staff and warehousing in the same building.
1988
DACO Expands to Larger Facility
Our operations are moved to a larger facility in Bellevue, Washington allowing us to keep more local inventory on hand, and service our customers quicker.
1995
We Move to New Facility in Kent
As our DACO family grows, as does our need for additional inventory space, we again expand and move to a new facility on East Valley Highway in Kent, WA. This provides us with much needed office and warehouse space.
1998
DACO Purchases Sifferman Supply
Sifferman Supply, a local material handling company, is purchased by DACO, and Larry Sifferman joins the DACO family. With him he brings many years of working with seafood companies, the roots of where DACO started.
1999
Kevin Katona Becomes a Part Owner
Dick Anderson retires, and Kevin Katona become a part owner. Kevin, having been with the company since 1982, helps to continue the legacy that Dick and John created, bringing new ideas of his own to improve service to fishing, agricultural and food processing, and other industries.
2000
Kevin Katona and Steve Duffield Join Forces
John Anderson retires and Steve Duffield becomes Kevin’s business partner, and we rebrand as DACO Corporation. Under their leadership, we continue focusing on serving the needs of companies in the Northwest, while maintaining the values of honesty and integrity that have earned DACO their reputation in the industry today.
2004
DACO Launches First Website
We launch our first website, which opens up a whole new way to communicate with our customers locally, and across the country. It provides a valuable resource for our customers to explore the many material handling, storage and packaging solutions available to them.
2014
DACO Acquires Applied Handling NW
DACO purchases Applied Handling NW, a material handling & systems design company, and together we move into our new 87,000 square foot facility. The additional space allows us to increase the stocked inventory available to our customers for immediate shipment.
2015
DACO Acquires Harrison Equipment
DACO expands even more by purchasing Harrison Equipment, a local material handling company, and we welcome 3 additional members to our growing family.
2017
LeDuc Packaging
DACO continues growing with the purchase of LeDuc Packaging, a local packaging company that specializes in seafood packaging, and we welcome 3 more members to our DACO family.
2022
DACO Celebrates 50 years
In celebration of our 50th Anniversary, we refreshed our look and consolidated our brands under the DACO name. So, while you won’t be seeing some familiar brand icons, you can expect the same service, commitment and solutions you’ve come to expect.
