Innovative Breakroom and Training Solution for Employee Experience
Portco Packaging is a growing company that recognized the importance of investing in its employees’ well-being and productivity. However, the company’s facility had limited space, which presented a challenge. How were they going to give their employees the privacy and break areas they needed?
Trial and Error:
The company considered traditional construction methods, but the cost and inflexibility of these methods made them unfeasible. After researching alternative solutions, Portco Packaging decided to look to DACO to solve their problem.
Solution Options:
When looking to DACO for a better solution, the decision to use Starrco’s modular construction instead of traditional construction method was proposed. With cost, design, flexibility, and the ease of customization using Starrco’s modular construction, it made it the ideal choice for the company’s needs. After contemplating different designs and layouts, DACO and Portco decided it was best to create a two-story breakroom and training room. The bottom story would be the breakroom and would have access to the existing office and the new breakroom. The upstairs training room would need to be accessed from custom stairs on both sides of the building. Throughout the installation process, there were various obstacles, including limited space and the need for custom stairs.
Resolution & Benefits:
Overall, the obstacles did not stop the process from moving forward and the building was designed to meet the specific needs of training new employees and providing a comfortable space for breaks. Its layout and amenities contributed to a positive and productive training experience.
