Storage Space Dilemma

NOAA, tasked with storing crucial oceanic graphic data and sensitive equipment, faced spatial constraints within their Chesapeake warehouse. They were running out of space to store essential items required for oceanic studies. With limited floor space and stringent government regulations required, finding a solution that met their requirements posed a significant challenge.

Vertical Expansion

NOAA issued a statement of work outlining their need for a mezzanine to expand their storage capacity by tapping into unused vertical space. The implementation of a mezzanine would provide the necessary additional space, optimize storage efficiency and facilitate seamless operations. DACO collaborated closely with NOAA to understand their specific requirements and constraints.

Navigating Space Constraints

The proposed solution involved installing a mezzanine over an existing wire cage instrument laboratory. This approach maximized the utilization of vertical space without compromising the functionality of the laboratory below. The mezzanine design adhered to government requirements, ensuring compliance while providing ample storage space for electronic and sensor equipment crucial for oceanic studies.

Benefits:

  • More cost effective solution that stick built construction, and can be relocated if necessary.
  • Additional space created utilizing unused vertical space.
  • Tax benefits.
